Resource Therapy International is the official international body for Resource Therapy, supporting the growth, integrity, and visibility of the model across training, certification, collaboration, and community.
Making Resource Therapy known worldwide as a parts-based psychotherapy model that focuses on the resources within a person, which can be applied across cultures, disciplines and groups, on an “evidence-informed” basis.
To realize this vision, Resource Therapy International carries the mission of “providing ethical management of the global Resource Therapy community, by ensuring quality training, global accreditation, and professional support for Resource Therapy practitioners, teachers and researchers.”
The current president, or leader, of Resource Therapy International is Philipa Thornton, an Australian psychologist with decades of experience practicing various psychotherapy modalities.
Resource Therapy International’s board of directors is comprised of practitioners from various countries with diverse professional backgrounds who unite to champion a common vision and mission to develop Resource Therapy globally.
Professor Gordon Emmerson, PhD, currently serves as an advisor to Resource Therapy International.

June 2025, @Ubud – Bali
For the first time in 2025, Resource Therapy International held an international conference in Ubud, Bali. Themed “Happy Parts, Healthy Self: Our Resources,” the conference was attended by doctors, counselors, psychologists, coaches, and others interested in parts-based intervention from various countries.
Following the success of the 2025 conference, the next international conference will be held in June 2027 in Erlangen, Germany.
Joining under the umbrella of Resource Therapy International, Resource Therapy practitioners in Indonesia are connected with Resource Therapy practitioners, trainers, and researchers across countries, providing access to knowledge and insight into the latest trends in the world of global mental health.
