Resource Therapy Process

The primary framework used in Resource Therapy (RT) is the Resource Therapy Process (RT Process). This process consists of four main phases of treatment: Aim, Classify, Actions, and Review, abbreviated as “ACAR.”

The primary goal of RT is to restore a Resource State experiencing Resource State Pathology to its normal state, a return to its normal state. This is facilitated through the ACAR framework within the RT Process. The following is a further explanation of the RT Process – ACAR:

Aim

This is the stage where we identify the treatment goal, which is the client’s hope for change, and which they are ready to change through our collaborative work.

Clients come to us because they experience a symptom that is causing them discomfort, a symptom that stems from their Resource State Pathology.

Instead of spending time focusing on “what is the client’s problem” by asking “How can I help?” or “What is your problem?” in the Aim stage, we focus on a simple question: “What do you want to address in this session with me?”

In reality, there are many ways to phrase this question; the wording doesn’t need to be exactly as you’ve seen, but can vary. The essence of this question is essentially to prevent the initial process from becoming too long-winded due to too much detailed information that isn’t necessarily necessary for the course of therapy. By asking “what does the client want to address in this session with us?” we can focus the treatment on the specific end result the client desires and obtain as much detail as necessary regarding the client’s problem without getting carried away in various non-essential directions.

The client’s answer to that question will be the opening path that leads us to the second process, namely Classify.

Classify

Based on the client’s responses regarding the issues they wish to resolve through our therapy sessions, Classify is the stage where we gather further information about the client’s issues and identify the Resource State Pathology within the client’s case based on the manifestations of the Resource State issues.

Classify is an RT Process that is also part of RT Actions, which are treatment actions to restore the Resource State Pathology to its normal state. In RT Actions, Classify represents RT Action 1 – Diagnosis.

Each Resource State Pathology has its own specific needs to return to its normal state. In the Classify stage, we identify the Resource State Pathology underlying the client’s issues based on the specific symptoms they exhibit.

The underlying premise of Classify is that each Resource State Pathology always has specific characteristics that will later manifest as symptoms of a specific problem. Because the manifestations of this Resource State Pathology are so specific in the form of symptoms, once the specifics of the client’s current problems are clearly defined, the Resource State Pathology can be identified.

When the Resource State Pathology has been clearly identified, specific handling actions can be carried out to normalize the Resource State Pathology, which will lead us to the third process, namely Actions.

Actions

The stages of implementing treatment measures appropriate to the needs of Resource State Pathologies to return them to their normal state.

If you’ve read the phrase “RT Actions” before, then this is the third stage we’ll discuss.

RT Actions are a set of techniques that have a therapeutic function to return Resource State Pathologies to their normal state.

Different Resource State Pathologies have different therapeutic needs to return them to their normal state. Different Resource State Pathologies require similar approaches, while others are specific approaches specifically designed for that specific Resource State Pathology. This collection of therapeutic techniques is grouped into a set of treatment actions called RT Actions.

There are twelve main techniques in RT Actions and three additional techniques, for a total of fifteen RT Actions.

Each RT Action is also numbered (RT Action 1, RT Action 2, etc.) to make it easier to find its categorization in the provided RT Actions table.

All the technical requirements for returning Resource State Pathology to normal are summarized in these fifteen RT Actions, so the focus of RT learning is solely on mastering these fifteen techniques.

Different Resource State Pathologies will also require different RT Actions to return them to normal. Here, a summary of the designated RT Actions for each Resource State Pathology has been prepared as a specific treatment plan.

We need to ensure the accuracy of the Resource State Pathology through the Classification process, then prepare a specific treatment plan to return it to normal.

RT Actions contain the complete stages of therapy from start to finish, including testing the results. Once we have ensured that the therapy process is working as expected, we conclude with the next step: Review.

Review

The final stage of treatment after the therapy process is complete. The review stage is the closing stage where we discuss the results of the treatment with the client, including facilitating a discussion if the client has any questions or needs clarification regarding the course of the therapy.
